AES 08: SONAR 8 – Mixing And Mastering
Cakewalk’s Seth Perlstein gives an extensive presentation on mixing and mastering using SONAR’s Sidechaining, Bus Assistant, & included effects (Transient Shaper, Tube Leveler, Channel Tools, Lexicon Pantheon, Perfect Space, Gate, Vintage Channel, LP64 EQ & Multiband, Boost11). Seth ends the demo by showing off how efficient SONAR’s new engine is.

  1. pro tools could not handle that many plug-in and that many tracs all at
once LOL.. the name Cakewalk says it all … Simple Cakewalk..

  2. haterdrinkinhaterade it can have that cluttered look but fortunately you
can modify what you see and what you don’t – really cleans it up.

  3. @PrimusNYC This video is a couple years old. More recent videos are all
    1080p.

  4. Volume fluctuations in final export mixdown
Everything sounds fine in Sonar 8 but when I do my final export mixdown and
listen to it the volume decreases after a few seconds and then increases
again toward the end of the song. I’m not sure what could possibly effect
the entire final mix as opposed to automation on the individual tracks. I
searched but could not find any answers…I’m hoping this is just a really
    stupid rookie mistake. Help!
