Mastering Tutorial: IZotope Ozone 5 Stereo Imaging – Part 5

iZotope Ozone 5 Stereo Imaging – Part 5 – In this tutorial I introduce you to the Stereo Imaging Module in iZotope Ozone 5 and talk a little about the Post Equalizer Module.

Topics covered include:
–Stereo Imaging–
Crossover Band View
Stereo Width View
Stereo Widening
Stereo Narrowing
Stereoize (Advanced Version Only)
VectorScope (Liss., Polar L, Polar S views)
Correlation Meter
Stereo Balance Meter
Inverting Channels
Mono Track Settings
And more…

Here’s part 5 of my iZotope Ozone 5 series. In this video I give an overview of the Stereo Imaging Module and briefly speak about the Post Equalization Module – with a demonstration of some parameters introduced to a house music track. Keep in mind that these parameters (along with the supplied presets) can be good starting points… but you will need to further modifying these parameters to suit the track you are mastering.

Don’t forget to watch part 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the series which introduces you to the Ozone 5 Interface, EQ and Harmonic Exciter, Reverb and Dynamics!

  1. Pretty great tutorials, thanks for making these. I’m just a beginner in
mastering and these are quite easy to follow, so well done.

  2. One of the most informative, well-prepared and well delivered tutorial out
    there.
And believe me, I saw hundreds of ’em, to say the least.
    BIG BIG UP.

  3. Great tutorials serie man, really helpful and well explained. I have a
question tough: how do you break apart the elements from the shared
    crossover in the graph?

  4. Hi! When i higher the high freq. band/slide too lets Say 70.. My kick sound
double.. IT sound like it is to diffrent kicks that are mixed Together
badly… Its sound like double.. HELP

badly… Its sound like double.. HELP

  6. should I invert my speakers or no because it sounds ok but it doesn’t sound
    as powerful

  7. I’ve watched this series probably 10+ times just to keep my mastering
    solid, great stuff!

  8. what are you doing man? you just bypass and activate only once so quickly,
one cannot hear any difference. some people are so idiotic… do you vote
by the way? god help us

  9. Please, if you want to use just the stereo imager on ozone without using
the other feartures how do you do that?

  10. When I master my tracks (I produce house music) my snares and kicks loose
their tightness that had before going into Ozone 5. How could I make the
tightness show up again? What could be causing this? Also, in my mixdown,
the kick sounds perfect in terms of volume and EQ, but when mastered, it
hides and it doesn’t get punchy neither noticiable making the track messy.
    Any tips?

  11. This feature of Izotope is really bad when it comes to mono compatibility.
Even when converting a mono mix to stereo it raises the output level, so
when switched to mono there is an unacceptable drop in the output. It also
tends to screw up the balance in the mix, due mainly to the
frequency-dependant width adjustment. Overall, the design concept of this
    plugin is poor.
